Preparation…
7 DAYS BEFORE
- If you wax, do so a few days before your shoot to avoid any bumpiness or redness.
- Make sure your eyebrows are nicely shaped and groomed.
- If you’re planning to visit the salon for a haircut or color, then give yourself a few days to make sure you are happy with it.
- Be sure to get a salon manicure and pedicure for a flawless finish. Red, dark colors, neon, nudes, and French tip all look beautiful for nail ideas.
- If you are already tan or plan to tan for your session, please only do so via tanning beds. You want to tan nude and using tanning lotion if desired. This will make your skin all an even tone.
- Stay out of the sun – while a base tan will be nice in photos, red, blotchy skin will not. You only want to be getting color from the tanning beds if you plan on being tan for photos.
- PLEASE – DO NOT SPRAY TAN.
- Drink plenty of water for luminous skin.
- ****LOWER your salt intake and AVOID alcohol if you’re worried about retaining water.
- *IMPORTANT* Try on your outfits and lingerie to make sure they fit properly; remove all tags and labels.
- Steam or iron your ensembles and hang them properly so they keep their shape as you travel to the studio.
1 DAY BEFORE
- Bathe, shave and moisturize.
- Make sure if your nails weren't professionally done that they are painted or natural & clean.
- Shave your body so your skin has time to calm down overnight if it gets irritated.
- Double-check everything is properly packed and ready for the shoot: heels, jewelry, accessories, props.
- Allow yourself plenty of time to get to the studio without stressing.
- Check weather and traffic reports to ensure you have allotted enough time for unexpected delays.
- Enjoy a relaxed, quiet evening. Plan for a good night’s sleep – eight hours is ideal.
- NO MESSY BUNS ALLOWED
THE DAY OF YOUR SHOOT
- Use clear deodorant PLEASE.
- Wear loose-fitting clothing to your session to avoid red marks on your skin (no jeans, tight socks or tight clothing, for instance, bralette or none to avoid lines). NO BRA NO LINES
- Eat something light but filling before you leave the house.
- Arrive with a clean and moisturized face and CLEAN, DRY HAIR (important!). NO MESSY BUNS! NO HATS!
- Most important: Take a deep breath and RELAX. It’s completely normal to be a wee bit nervous before your shoot, but please don’t worry because you will be in very good hands. I'll will show you exactly how to pose and work with you to get the perfect shot! lets vibe girl!
what to wear
Once your boudoir session has been booked, you’ll be receiving our Welcome link & past client inspiration of style inspiration to prepare for your special day. Some of our favorite items include lacy lingerie sets, bodysuits with plunging necklines, structured bustiers, corsets, sheer robes, garter belts and thing-high stockings. Boudoir doesn’t have to be just about the lingerie, it can be about how gorgeous you feel in that slinky black sequin dress that you keep for special occasions or even a pair of low-rise boyfriend jeans. You’re welcome to bring along your wedding veil for a bridal boudoir look. As for heels, the higher the better. Nude heels are lovely for accentuating the length of your legs, and black heels always look fabulous!
Your boudoir portrait session is only the beginning of creating these precious memories. Following your session, we spend an extensive amount of time selecting and post-processing the best images to showcase in your gallery. We want you to treasure your final images. Each image is carefully and tastefully edited into a unique work of art. Your gallery of beautifully edited boudoir portraits will be ready within 1-2 weeks of your session.
