Do I have to have my makeup done for my session?

Absolutely! Hair and Makeup are provided as part of the session fee. Natural may be your everyday look, but in the studio, makeup is Queen. If you're not used to wearing makeup, don't worry! Our hairstylist and makeup artists are all professionally trained, and know how to apply makeup without causing you to not look like "you". They work with your bone structure to find the best look for you. We don't 'one size fits all' here.

As a follow up, yes! you do have to have makeup. And here’s why – this is the ultimate self-love experience. You deserve to be pampered and have your features accentuated by a professional. My hair and makeup artist is amazing and she works hard to create a look that portrays well on camera. Plus it’s part of the experience. These sessions are meant to show off your assets, but also as a way to pamper yourself. 

Oh, and hair and make up are our time to get to know one another before our session. Consider it a way to clear up your nerves. 

What should I wear? I've never bought lingerie before!

Don't sweat it! I've got you covered. Literally. I have a client closet with a range of sizes.. So don't feel obligated to bring all 5 looks to your session. However, I definitely suggest you finding and bringing at least 2 pieces you really love on your body. This way you have some of the items from your images on hand if you're wanting to recreate the feel you got from your session. 

I have to give some love to my VIP Group here as well. The baddies from our community is a GREAT resource for lingerie that fits all body types from XS-6X. If you haven't already joined, you should.

Do you use photoshop to edit out 'flaws'?

When I edit your images, I will automatically do these things: smooth your skin, remove blemishes, bruises, and anything not permanent. Stretch marks and scars I leave up to each client whether they want them removed, lightened, or left alone.

BUT, I’M NOT GOING TO MANIPULATE YOUR BODY IN PHOTOSHOP TO MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE SOMETHING YOU’RE NOT. 

As a professional, it’s my job to help you see yourself as the woman you are beyond all the makeup and clothes. It's extremely important for me, and for you, for you to see yourself as you truly are. 

Manipulating your body shape in your photos does you a disservice. What kind of body-love promoting photographer would I be if I thought your images looked better if you didn't look like yourself? 



Do I have to find poses I like for our session?

NOPE! In fact, if you bring me in printouts from Pinterest with a bunch of poses I'm gonna throw them in the trash. 

Not because I don't want your input, but because YOU hired ME. You did this for a reason: because you trust me. I'm going to pose you in a way that looks good on you. I'm not going to put you in positions that aren't flattering to your specific body type. This is what I have specialized in. This is what my whole career is about.

Besides, I probably have way more poses in my head then you could ever find on Pinterest. 

What if I'm awkward to photograph?

I mean, let’s be honest. You’re getting half-naked with a complete stranger. I totally get you may feel awkward. 

My job as your photographer is to make the session as comfortable for you as possible. I am silly and try to get you to laugh often so you feel at ease. Ask any of my previous clients, our sessions are hilarious, with a dash of “Yas, Queen!” 

 My hope is that before you even set foot in my studio, we have chatted (whether in my VIP group or on the phone for your initial consult) and I have an understanding of your personal style and why you are doing your shoot. 

We spend the first hour of your session chatting while your hair and makeup are perfected which helps ease your nerves, and lets you get more comfortable with me. Then, we let the magic happen.

If you are worried about your not good at 'sexy face', don't worry! It's easier then you think, you're probably just over thinking it. I'll coach you through it.

As a Curvier woman, should I schedule a session?

I shoot women of all shapes, sizes, colors, and sexualities with my goal being that you leave your session loving not only your images, but yourself more in the process. I will work with you to pose you from the tippy top of your head all the way down to your toes. 

It’s my job to find not only what makes your body look more bangin,’ but also pushes you a little bit out of your comfort zone so you can see yourself as the attractive woman you are.

Do you send out a prep guide before the session?

I do! The very first email you will receive from me after your contract is the Prep Guide. It's extremely detailed and thorough. I'm updating it often! It covers everything from tanning, to body hair, to stretching to hydration. 

I would never want my clients to feel unprepared for their session with me. 

Do you offer payment plan options?

Yes! I have an in-detail blog post about payment plans. Your boudoir session is an investment and I understand some clients need to save up or would prefer financing options. We offer in-house payment plans as well as Paypal Credit or Affirm Financing. 

We also offer the Boudie Bank as a way to make payments towards your products before your session date. Some clients need to make smaller payments leading up to their session in order to not spoil the surprise of what they are doing for their partner.

What props should I bring in?

Anything that makes you feel sexy really. Props are popular! The only thing I don't allow are guns. My insurance doesn't allow firearms in the studios. 

Do I have to share my images online?

ABSOLUTELY NOT! 

If you want to share YOUR images, you are more than welcome to, but it is never an obligation. At the bottom of your contract you will answer a sharing policy questionnaire and you have the option to not share.

After your session, and after viewing your images, I have you sign an image release. This release gives you control of what I can and can not post: from a little to a lot to absolutely none - and WHERE I can post: online, in our VIP group, in the studio or not at all. Every client’s level of comfort is different, and I totally understand a want for privacy. I’ve worked with teachers, nurses, and law students who have requested their images stay off the internet in every way and I respect that. I’m photographing a very private part of your life, being discreet is my middle name.

Do you only shoot women?

NOPE. I also shoot couples. Same sex welcome!

I love seeing the intimacy between couples and catching it on camera. There is an unspoken connection between them that is awesome to witness and even better to have in a photo forever. 

Male boudoir has a certain sensuality and vulnerability about it. I have always wanted to shoot masculinity. Shoot me an email if you know someone!
